Hi All,

Trying to setup the above but I don't seem to get a connection I've used multiple details, I've tested on a laptop and it works fine I'm just wondering if its because of the built in software supplied with it.

Any help appreciated and my settings are below.

Hi @roodie1986

The reason for this is the 4G connection is a back up to prevent you losing your service should your internet lose connectivity and will only work is the fixed line connection goes down.  Since your internet is working correctly the 4G dongle will not work.

This is mentioned on this link: Vodafone Pro Broadband

i have disabled the primary WAN setting so it should detect that the line is down and then flip over unless it physically needs me to unplug the cable.

Hi Roodie,

I know this is an old thread however i was wondering is you could give me any pointers to getting the AX88U connected? I have tried all sorts of guides in here however with no luck, pretty sure i am just missing one setting somewhere - any chance you could share how you got yours connected?

Hi, hope you made this work and maybe have a solution :Smiling:

I have the same problem with the Asus RT-AX53U. 4G Huawei E8372 USB dongle will not mount or show up. It works fine on our older RT-AC88U and AC66U routers and on computers. Huawei E8372 is also on Asus compatibility list.

But... I did get it to work once!

It showed up and I could then surf the net from the Asus router. After unplugging it I was not able to mount it again...

It could look like the 4G Huawei E8372 USB dongle is compatible, but have problems mounting. Maybe this is an Asus RT-AX problem. Mounting 4G USB dongles. Hopefully Asus will address this.

P.S. I have settings for 4G USB dongle on "automatic". I am not sure the settings has anything to do with mounting the device. Auto works fine on the RT-AC routers.

Cheers

Pal

That would only be true if he was using it on the Vodafone router, but he is using an Asus.

He has already proved it works by plugging into a laptop.

Please excuse me for being dumb, but everything I can find suggests that both the username & password should be "wap" and not "web"!

Hoping to be proven wrong (again) :Winking_smiley:

Hi Roodie,

Did you ever get this working? I'm looking to setup the same on my ASUS AX88U.

Not sure this will work with the K5161 dongle Vodafone currently offer.

Thanks
