FTTP availability via openReach

Hi,

I have FTTP provided over openReach fibre using BT as my ISP.

This contract ends in a few weeks, so I was looking at alternatives.

I had assumed that if vodafone was now using openreach fibre, they would be able to offer a FTTP service to anywhere that was on the openreach fibre network - but as it turns out this is not the case.

Does anyone know what the limitations are? Technical? Commercial? Both...and what, if any, the plans for a wider geographical rollout are?

Cheers!

Hi @dbrb2, if we're going to offer FTTP with Openreach in your area, we will update our website on the availability checker if or when we get the go ahead from Openreach. We do offer FFTC on the Superfast 1 package which will give you speeds of up to 35mbps download or Superfast 2 with speeds up to 63mbps download, both of these will use the Openreach infrastructure.

If it is FTTP that you're looking for, it might be worth checking if Gigafast is available in area. This service will use the City Fibre infrastructure and we provide packages up to 900mbps download speed. You can find all the details and the areas that the service is available here

Did you manage to get FTTP with Vodafone? I too have Openreach FTTP but can’t seem to get connected via Vodafone at >100mb.

No - in the end I went with EE (still using openreach FTTP), who despite being owned by BT, were significantly cheaper than BT (though not of voda) at the time!

Thanks. I’m wondering if there’s still not nationwide rollout of FTTP on Openreach for Vodafone. Although would appreciate actually being told if that’s the reason...

Hey @The_Limey - We'd love to have you onboard with our Gigafast speeds. Currently we offer Gigafast speeds of up to 900mbps in many areas in the UK. We're always looking to improve and expand our network, you can sign up to register interest in Gigafast if it currently isn't available in your area.

Hi Evie,

I would also love to. I’m trying to work out why it’s not available to me even though I have an OpenReach FTTP connection.

Is Vodafone’s OpenReach proposition not nationwide?

It does seem odd @The_Limey that you're unable to get our Gigafast line then! We don't have Broadband or Gigafast rolled out nationwide yet, we are always looking to improve our network though so I'll be sure to pass on your feedback to the relevant team 👍

I would suggest to contact the Gigafast team on the contact details above so they can advise further

Hello,

I'm going to move to a new home where there is Openreach FTTP but no Vodafone. This is a new postcode and the developers are rapidly expanding this new residential area and not stopping. Since there were a few homes here it made sense not to offer broadband here but now I think it makes economical sense to offer broadband here. Could you please pass my postcode to the strategic expansion team? Thanks

EDIT: never mind now I just the link for registering thanks anyway
