Hi, I just received my gigabox and trying to hook it up to my playstation 4, it appears I've been stuck with a Nat Type 3, I've tried all the usually things like port forwarding and static IP, upon research I've seen plenty of others with this same problem with Vodaphone yet not a problem on 3, as I'm still within my timeframe to return the product I'd like to know if there will be a fix for this? I believe public ips are what is needed but according to other threads Vodaphone don't do this (yes I've changed my DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) is this something that is going to be addressed or should I just cancel now as paying 50 pound a month for restricted gaming is far too much for me.
Any help that would be appreciated.
Thanks!

It’s not NAT I got it because of the NAT issue but it keeps skipping frames. It’s wired straight to the Gigacube so looks like Vodafone are dropping packets. Can’t get out of my contract with them over the NAT issue so went with this option out of desperation and now this. Seems this company has me screwed six ways from Sunday and there is nothing I can do about it.

It won't be dropping packets, but more likely the Chromecast is self is ignoring packets that arrive late in order not to present extra lag within the game.
The problem would appear to be that the download speed you get is opportunistic, which is great for downloads but not so good for games! The only cure may be to complain to the regulator about it being missold! At least one of VFs competitors has a fixed 4G/5G based broadband, where the equipment will only connect to the specified base station, but it does have dedicated bandwidth.

Is this still the case? I was close to ordering earlier and luckily checked for reviews beforehand. The agent told me this isn't an issue and the system will work flawlessly with home consoles?

Yes, still an issue.

Thankfully the words Vodafone and NAT bring these Threads up right away in google searches. So although Vodafone refuse to resolve the issue and continue to market this as a broadband alternative great for gaming there is at least a some mechanism to warn potential customers that they are being hoodwinked.

Great for downloading games but not so much if you want to play with anyone

Yup. It's still an issue. With the Gigacube's and if you try using a Vodafone sim card in a 4G router.

At this point I feel like VF are taking the absolute mick, I've had this thing for ages, and I like to game, big surprise, but I can't get a decent connection in most games, my ping in mordhau reaches 1020 cause of this NAT BS, also can't play basically anything on switch or PS4 due to strict NAT, so I'm stuck rubber banding around a game barely being able to play.
Like, seriously, I pay £50 a month for this and I basically have the internet of a café, the upside being AT LEAST THEIR ROUTER WILL HAVE DMZ ACCESS.
Also, to go further, whats the point in adding the Cone option, or the UPnP options, the special app's options, none of them work on your piece of trash network.

Good evening all!
I am a new forum member so please be kind. Could someone please help me understand the purpose of this forum? Is it for Vodafone users to exchange their experiences (positive or bad) and help each other, or is there actually any Vodafone's staff members following up on the forum's replies to provide assistance and solutions?
I would like to post some comments regarding the impossibility to obtain a fixed IP address via Vodafone 5G CPE router, but I am afraid that without being certain I will get help from Vodafone here and some improvement in their service, it feels I would be just wasting my time.
Thank you in advance! Lola

I’ve not seen any action by Vodafone as a result of posting in the forums. You’ll not get a fixed IP from the wireless broadband with them.
