Help with ASUS RT-AX 86S not connecting to ultrahub

Hi...I'm freaking out here.

I am trying to link my Asus router in Access Mode to the Ultrahub. I also have a phone line so they both need to be connected.

I have tried the ethernet from ONT to the Asus - nothing happens and Have connected both together - ONT to Ultrahub LAN and Ultrahub WAN to ASUS LAN and again nothing. It's impossible to get to the ASUS GUI as It won't connect to the internet.

I actullay had this set up recently without any issues (had to do nothing) and have also reset the Asus to factory settings via reset button and did the set up as described in the manual (which i didn't even read before...Please help is you can - TIA :Winking_smiley:

Says this: To obtain the most accurate results, the DNS Benchmark should be the only program actively using your network connection while it is performing the benchmark testing. Active web surfing or file downloading will almost certainly have a profound impact on your network's DNS access performance....please suspend all other network activity for the few minutes required to run the benchmarking test."

Does that just mean e.g. Chrome on PC or also evrthing on my network e.g. PS4, alexas,  wifi etc?

If you're downloading or uploading anything then that will affect the results of the test. Simply browsing will be okay, especially those sites you've visited recently.

I've just downloaded it myself - been a while. After the first run you'll get the option to create a personlal list. It's not fast, but that's because it will ping nearly 4900 servers to find the fastest 50. It'll then use this list for future runs. So, most effective (accurate) to run it twice.

Hi..Yeah I ran the basic then personal tests but not sure it worked for me. The Nameservers tab does show the ip addresses anmd names but nothing else - Tabular data and conclusions show nothing except the advice from the start?

Try the "Conclusions" tab after testing. The recommendations will be there

Got this on that box with recommendations: "System has only ONE (router based) nameserver configured.
It appears that only one local (router gateway) DNS nameserver, with the IP address of [192.168.50.1], is currently providing all DNS name resolution services to this system. This configuration is not recommended because most consumer-grade routers provide inefficient and under-powered DNS resolution services.

Unless the DNS resolvers your router is using is under your control, it may not be providing the best or complete name resolution services. For example, is it using multiple redundant DNS nameservers?

Users of GRC's DNS Spoofability system have determined that consumer-grade routers can be crashed by the receipt of specific DNS reply packets from the Internet. This opens the possibility that Internet-based criminals could acquire access to your router from the Internet as well as to the private network in controls."

Many consumer-grade routers fail to provide the full range of DNS lookup services. This may have been detected by the benchmark and noted below.

What does it say about other recommended servers?

That warning us a generic response to a router's dns. A router's dns is only as good as the servers it is connected to, which for an inexperienced user would automatically be the ISP's dns.

What we want to do here is find the best dns servers to set on your PS4. It wouldn't hurt to use those servers on the router so your whole network benefits.

Is this what you need...The first and second entry of the basic run...can't seem to do a second personal one?

Ignoring the first result (192.168. 50. 1 aka your router), the next fastest nameservers will be the two that follow it at the top of the list. Those are the two to set on your PS4, and on the router if you desire.

So this is the two minus my router but what numbers do I use? :
