I believe the Wi-Fi on the BT router is better than that of the Vodafone, especially if you have the extenders/disks.
Having said that I have no problem connecting my phone anywhere in the house, or even at the bottom of my garden.

again thanks for the reply, but i was asking about using a old style landline phone with fibre2 on copper wire, not too worried about wi-fi

Ah sorry, didn't realise you meant the landline phone.
Vodafone do not use SOGEA (AFAIK), there is an ATA built into the router, so yes you can use an analogue phone,
Not sure what a SOGEA adapter is, and I don't recognise your names for the Vodafone products. Are you asking about Superfast 2?
Edit, They have been changing the names again. Fibre 2 is the old Superfast 2. That is what I am on.
2nd Edit, they are obviously using SOGEA now.

How is your current landline phone connected? I know BT have a DECT base station built into the router and use adapters to connect the analogue phones to it. With Vodafone it will be cabled.

Vodafone have only just started to use digital voice with the FTTC products.
I don't know what they mean by a SOGEA adapter, but you will get a router with ATA functionality and an adapter which will enable you to plug a BT stye phone plug into the RJ11 sockets on the router.
At least that is what the latest posters on here are telling us, Vodafone are not good at giving out information.
