Issues with WiFi and Sky Q

Hi. Had some issues the last few weeks with my Sky Q box losing internet signal (via WiFi where the Vodafone router is 10 feet from the Sky Q box). Sky have replaced my box and kindly connected the router to the Sky Q box with an Ethernet cable. Still having issues though and Vodafone are saying it’s because of the Ethernet cable, the Sky Q box isn’t compatible and I need to keep the connection via WiFi.

They also say, “Just to clarify, the impact on your network is caused by four devices broadcasting the SSID SKYB710G. These devices are emitting a separate WiFi signal that's causing your Vodafone router's WiFi signal to be drowned out in certain areas”

anyone any idea which may help me out?

Thanks.

Have you just got the one Sky Q box, or do you have any mini's?

I have two minis connected to the sky Q box via WiFi.

The problems with Sky Q and non-Sky routers are well known. I think the Sky engineer was right to hardwire the Sky box, despite what Vodafone say.

Unfortunately, I don't know just how to solve the mini's connection problem. Have you tried asking on the Sky forum?

Are any of the Sky boxes try to be a DHCP server ?

I had massive issues as I had 3 mini boxes and a main Q box along with Xboxes, playstations & switches best way I've found to get round it all is the boosters that voda fone provide the have an ethernet port on the back of them I've placed them on all of my minis & the main box, I've had no real WiFi issues really apart from the mini boxes every now and then need reactivating through the sky menu, Vodafone only supply 2 boosters tho so I had to buy the others.
