Solution

Apologies if this has been answered previously but I recently joined Vodafone with the full fibre 100 package. I work from home and make regular Microsoft teams video calls and my connection keeps dropping out. It will either completely drop out or it will freeze for me/others part of the video call.
Is there a solution to this? Apart from that the connection is absolutely fine and I have had no issues.
Thank you in advance for any help.

@annasor89 Are you connected to the router by WiFi? If so, would you be able to connect by ethernet cable to see if that makes a difference?

@Cynric Thank you for your help.
I have just ordered one to see if that will make any difference.
I spoke with someone from Vodafone this morning, first they said there was a bar on my account which they removed. This didn’t make any difference and now there have done a firmware update.

Hi
A web search reveals this ...
Hi
Please make sure you've opened the following ports and IP address in your environment:

But it may be a waste of time.

Hello all,
Wondering if there is a resolution for this. I have the same problem on MS teams calls over WIFI.
My current Firmware version: 19.4.0551-3261103
im on the 100 fibre package
Troubleshooting:
If I use a wired connection call no drop
if I use my phone as hot spot calls no drop

This happens to me too. I also get really slow speeds when downloading files form onedrive and sharepoint.
There are a lot of posts on the forums re slow speeds on Microsoft apps, however Vodafone say its not them. They've previously told me to call Microsoft to see if there are issues with there servers despite all these messages.
Vodafone download from MS servers 150-300kbps (wired or wireless)
Tether to my phone +30mbps
Other wifi environments +50 mbps

This is a real issue for me. I use MS Teams for work and it is the one thing that screws up my router. I have run an Ethernet cable and I keep a continuous ping going to it to see the performance. I have logged a complaint with VF and a tech did come on from Egypt to upgrade the firmware but it has not cleared the problem. He did say that people have complained before if they were running a VPN but I am not.
There seems to be an issue with the service handling MS Teams specifically and when I am on a call with others. It knocks over the router and I cannot even ping it, the only solution seems to be is to restart the router and my laptop but by that time I am getting shouted at by my boss for not being able to attend the call!
Please Vodafone fix this! The service is unusable.

You say you restart the router and the laptop, that doesn't really help to isolate the cause of the problem.
Can other devices access the router at the time?
I would imagine Teams is working the router quite hard, so I wonder if it is overheating?
Do have problems with any other apps/services.
If it is causing you problems with work, I would consider getting your own router, the small outlay would be worth it if it cures the problem, and if it doesn't it rules out the router as the cause.

Thanks for replying,
Only Teams causes the issue so it is isolated right there, VF are aware of this problem but as yet not able to fix it. I have got a service which is FTTP so I would expect the router to be able to handle the load of the Teams call, I would not expect the router to be doing any coding or decoding, it should just be shifting bits. If I can get 700+mbps it should be able to handle it (as it was fine on a 25mbps TalkTalk service prior over DSL).
I spoke to VF and they recommend against getting your own router but I may have to look at it because this is becoming unworkable.

I have changed the modem router for a TP Link unit. My Teams speed is still slow. My download speed from OneDrive still maxes out at 5mbps. There are so many comments online about Vodafone and slow OneDrive/ Sharepoint services it leads me to think that Vodafone throttle these services.
I have spoken to Vodafone and they deny this is their issue and that it must be me.
