I have a Nighthawk X6 AC3200 router which I am trying to use as my main router. I have connected it to my Vodafone router, set everything up, but the netgear router is still not connected to the internet. Has anyone set this up before please?

In my opinion, the Draytek's are seriously overpriced, there are lots of ex-ISP router/modems, with modem only mode, that are available at low prices that will do the job. Even a TD-W9970 should work. https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/faq/1332/

If anyone can explain why you would pay for a Draytek I'd love to hear the reason.

When my (7yo) Vigor130 gave up during the very hot weather in the summer, I switched to using a Zyxel 3295-B10C (from memory) in modem mode.  The problem I found with this setup came down to the intermediate caching/bufferbloat it introduced, which was a pain to combat using QOS and in the process ate into my already not stellar speeds.  I gave up on the Zyxel and switched back to a HG612V3b modem for a bit, but as this is now an ancient piece of kit swapped again as soon as I managed to "acquire" a Vigor 166 (v3) without having to pay the normal exorbitant price.
