I used to get 5ms ping to London (from Coventry), now I am being auto connected to Edinburugh and I get 15 ping to there, when I try to speedtest to London or even right next to me in Leicester I am getting pings above 22...I called in and they just said "they added new servers and there's nothing much we can do"...
any help?

If anyone is curious about the extent of Vodafone's network, have a look at this - http://globalnetworkmap.vodafone.com/#/country/gbr
Interestingly, there is an IP transit point at Birmingham so it's strange that users in Coventry don't connect via Birmingham rather than Watford.

Service has been restored a little while ago. CF have finally resolved the issue from yesterday.
I am still on the correct BNG.
I won't be able to find out what happened in the background until the complaints chap from the Director's Office calls me back with an update. As I said earlier, I will be reminding him that others here are having the same issue and will ask what he recommends needs to be done in order to have everyone else sorted too. Though I'm not sure if my routing was fixed as part of previously scheduled resolution work or if it was a direct result of lodging a formal complaint. I'll keep you all posted.

How are you checking if the BNG is changing? Based on the IP you're on, or you basing it off what it tells you on your PPPoE session? Or is it just an assumption based off the ping changing.
And if you do know what BNG it was, which one was it on previously and which one has it changed to now?
Just curious, thanks.

Initially, the biggest sign of being on the wrong BNG was the fact the latency had suddenly jumped to 20ms. It was also reflected on the ThinkBroadband BQM that I used.
I then did a reverse traceroute to my IP address from a server in the USA - https://dnschecker.org/online-traceroute.php
If you see the last few hops, you can work out locations. I could see a hop which was man.cw.net - this is Manchester. I now see slo.cw.net which was on the previous route before things went wrong.
Also, the IP location details for the IP address I was assigned would always be in or around Manchester when it should be showing areas down south instead - https://www.iplocation.net/ip-lookup
I hope this helps!

Another way is to use Vodafone's own Ookla speed test here
https://www.vodafone.co.uk/broadband/speed-test
The first test server offered will be the closest one to where your IP geo-locates. It'll also be the server that gives the best Latency.

Well I was curious, not the way I would've really expected it to be done really. I just check my PPPoE session as I have a Mikrotik router so it shows up right away which one I'm connected to.
If that isn't an option I suggest using https://www.bigdatacloud.com/ip-geolocation/what-is-my-ip , the BNG will show up under the 'Network' section, in 'Registered For'.
Here's a few examples of what it should look like:
wahp06-bng-01
chtn070bng-01
SDNN06-BNG-01
ldscd2-bng-01
chtn07-lns-01
bsmh05-bng-01

Also, if you're using the THG3000 the BNG's IP is listed as "Gateway" in the status pages.

I fail to understand how my case has gone to 3rd line support, unless they're more concerned about the speeds I'm not getting. All I wanted is to be assigned a local IP on a local BNG and I've explained that to everyone I've spoken to. I'm not bothered about the speed but just for this morning:
I have to admit it is getting worse and it is starting to concern me, but surely an IP and gateway closer to me would help greatly?

Well, you learn something new every day. It's been useful to be able to see what BNGs are in place. Whether or not they are active is another matter I suppose.

Unfortunately the various teams do not seem to have anything on their support scripts covering routing issues like this. You'd think 3rd line support would be more accommodating.
I think yours is the only routing issue I've seen with speed performance issues thrown in. Maybe you're on a congested route or there's something else going on?
I hope the complaints chap rings back today, it would be nice to be able to pass on some details to you with regards to how to get this sorted once and for all.
