I used to get 5ms ping to London (from Coventry), now I am being auto connected to Edinburugh and I get 15 ping to there, when I try to speedtest to London or even right next to me in Leicester I am getting pings above 22...I called in and they just said "they added new servers and there's nothing much we can do"...
any help?

Hi everyone, I'm posting again as I know my last message is lost between all of the new ones and we really do need more examples.
If you haven't yet contacted us through Social Media please do so as soon as you can. The sooner we get all of the information that we need from you, then this can be escalated.
I understand we've been asked how many examples are needed, once it's been confirmed we've collated enough by our Support Teams, we'll let you know when it's been raised.

These are interesting results after about a day of the Facebook poll. Facebook connection poll I am assuming that everybody, as advised, tested their speed and latency whilst connected directly to their router by ethernet cable. 12 are happy with their connection speed, whilst 11 are not. That's roughly 50/50. That is surprising, suggesting that almost half of you are getting less than expected speeds. The poll on latency is less unexpected, given the problems VF have had routing user's connections through the nearest gateway to their physical location. Only 5 are happy with their latency, including me. 8 are unhappy with their ping. OK. this is a small sample so far, and a couple of votes either way makes a big difference, but any idea that VF has solved its routing problems seems a bit premature.

My ping has recently changed from 15ms to 34ms. Between 6.50pm 27th September and 2pm 28th September. I presume my gateway has changed. I have been in contact with Vodafone helpline since then but my request to further elevate the issue to the 3rd line of support has been rejected. Since 2nd line is just running speedtests over and over again even though I have sent over all the necessary proof confirming the change of ping. And no, nothing has changed in my setup. Kind of annoying that I got this issue happening on Vodafone after years of using BT and having no issues. Would love a permanent fix!
That's my current traceroute. My current IP places me in Beflast lol

Unfortunately @bartoldo, the geolocation databases are just not correct for Vodafone IP's.
You can see your gateway address in the router, and it is usually possible to work out its location. @Ripshod is particularly good at that. (it's also probably the second address on your traceroute, but it hasn't been moderated yet)

After some activity early in the week, the system seems firmly convinced that I am in West Yorkshire. I was, 20 years ago. Maybe in another 20 years it will figure out I am in Worcester.
Pings are now around 30ms. I was getting 9 or 10ms when on FTTC less than a month ago.

@bartoldo your image has been moderated now. The ip 138.197.251.12 resolves to DigitalOcean servers which appear to be handling some Vodafone traffic. I've gone through the database at http://www.as14061.net and confirmed it is definitely vodafone but being a third party (DigitalOcean) there's no location info - it could be Willsborough close to Dublin (explains your Geolocation)
Seeing this carrier being used raises a question: have vodafone actually made improvements to their own network as they claim, or just offloaded a lot more of it to third party operations?

Hi all
Yes, the VF router does seem to like using 3rd party services (probably detailed somewhere in a lengthy legalese T&Cs in point 3 font buried somewhere) that I have blocked - wifi doctor is one of them, they off load wifi management to a third party. This is more of a Technicolour thing as they made the router.
The wifi boosters do even more of this which I removed ages ago, they were making wifi performance worse anyway.
I've been told there's upgrade work going on to boost the connectivity to the BNGs. No timeframes given, it was limited information. Apparently this should resolve these issues in time and hopefully resolve the speed/packet loss issues too.

Are you suAre you're not using a VPN. I get very similar results when using a VPN and Vodafone won't be using class A private addresses.

It's a reverse trace route from an external server to his IP address
