I used to get 5ms ping to London (from Coventry), now I am being auto connected to Edinburugh and I get 15 ping to there, when I try to speedtest to London or even right next to me in Leicester I am getting pings above 22...I called in and they just said "they added new servers and there's nothing much we can do"...

any help?

In my case I stuck with it and was rewarded. All you can do now is, so long as you've left your details with the social team, enjoy what you have and stay active on this thread.

This is true they have the information, and the statements from Vodafone in my case also state once works are completed normal routing will occur

@ZinGeRs

I spoke to a really helpful man from the CEO team today and raised the following points with him.

1) Customers are told conflicting information by support.

2) We would like to know when our BNG's will be upgraded.

3) We feel like we are being ignored / fobbed off.

4) This thread makes the product look bad.

5) We want Vodafone to make a post on the forum that gives us real information, not just generic "please contact our social media team" type posts.

6) Support keep telling us it's a City Fibre problem.

7) If the network is congested, can customers paying for the top tier product be exempt from the alternative routing as they are likely to be gamers.

He said he is going to try again to reach out to his managers and will make them aware of this thread. He stated he agrees with all points and will do what he can to get some information over to the social media team to post here. Unfortunately, he stated it is hard to get answers as the department responsible for the network are deep within the company and unreachable. I re-iterated the above points and he agreed and will pass everything on to the highest person so they can at least be made aware of this thread.

As a side note, he stated that the infrastructure team will not discuss this and I again re-iterated the points I've stated. I have asked for them to post an upgrade schedule for the BNG's here in the forum.

I have to say, he did seem really genuine and it is the best response I've had from a VF CS rep so far.

You will always find a diamond in the rough, been a couple over the months who clearly 100% get where you are coming from.

As @Ripshod has said just have to wait it out keep them informed as things improve or not as the case may be.

I remember my first six months on here were absolutely fantastic like a whole new world coming from virgin so know when this product works it is good value and good consistent speeds, latency etc

@ZinGeRs I'm agreeing with your observation regarding Vodafone. When it is working as intended,  piggybacking on CityFibre's local network,  it is amongst the best available. When some of us were on Openreach ISPs or Virgin,  we dreamt of a symmetrical >900Mb. Speedfreaks on both those networks will switch to VF/CF as soon as their location gets it, unaware of the travails of  speedfreaks and gamers  expressed on this thread. Perhaps they should be made aware of what is before them via this poem.

My IP has changed again (a couple times actually) and getting sub 10ms ping which I'm happy with. Not sure which gateway it is but without saying the exact IP, it's somewhere between 81.78.64.0 and 81.78.127.255.

It changed at midnight on 19th October, and then once again around 5am.

The gateway I am seeing (via tracert) I think is: 90.247.64.1

Good to hear. Mine has disconnected this morning at 6 and yesterday too, although nothing changed. Other than the high ping, it's a very stable connection so hopefully it means things are happening behind the scenes. I'm on a static IP so am only looking for a gateway change.

I was having issues since around the start of September with evenings showing 10-20% packet loss and DL speeds of 2Mbps-50Mbps.

On 30/09/2022 it seems that my gateway changed from Leeds to one I think... is in Birmingham. The change caused a little increase in average latency but overall I am satisfied. No more packet loss and speeds are always above the minimum.

However, it does bother me that instead of fixing the issues with their congested gateways, they bandage over the problem. I feel like it is inevitable that the Birmingham gateway eventually becomes congested or that they decided to flick a switch and put me back on one that is unstable.

100% agree with you there I find myself in exactly the same situation shifted to Birmingham increase in ping but speeds work well day and night.

Sticking plaster fix and sure to break especially when support told me the issue is not resolved and still too and fro between voda and city fibre to fix!!!!

I don't think it's a CityFibre issue though, I had them with a different provider and the pings were constantly below 10ms, I think usually much lower if I recall correctly.
