When we first switched to Vodafone everything was great but every so often my ps5 and ps4 just cant connect to the internet through the router. The 2 consoles can connect to the internet if I hotspot them using the WiFi through my phone and if I reset the router twice it then can connect to the internet. But I do not understand why this is happening. The only thing that we have changed was the names of the consoles in the routers settings because they where just a bunch of letters.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @DanielF, how long has this been happening for and how often does it happen? Does this just happen with your consoles or any other devices? When the consoles can't connect, before you reset the router, are you getting any error messages?

So it has been happening since January I think and it only stops my ps4 and ps5 from connecting to the Internet.
So on the ps5 I try to connect to the router and it does connect but then when it trys to get Internet access it says something like "the router is stopping you from connecting to the wifi" I can't get the actual message because it is working right now.

I'm sorry to hear your having difficulty connecting @DanielF When this happens, do you lose connection via both devices at the same time and does this happen if you connect via a wired connection, or is it just devices connected via WiFi that lose service? If you could also let us know what the error message says, this will help us identify the issue.

The wifi connection does not cut out whilst using the consoles the connection cuts out when the consoles are turned back on(probs should of mentioned this).
It doesn't happen every time I turn the console on but it randomly does it after I have reset the router.
I also can not use a wired connection because the ps5 is in a different room to the router. And when the ps5 can't connect it is only the ps5 and ps4 that can't connect to the Internet.
The error message is:
Can't connect to the Internet your Internet service provider or your router might be preventing your PS5 from connecting to the Internet

So it's not so much that it cuts out, more it doesn't connect?

I assume you mean you changed it here:
The problem with something like this is the fact it doesn't happen all the time makes it hard to pin down.
As it worked for sometime without problems, I would start again by factory resetting the router and connecting every thing again. If you have made any significant changes you can back the configuration up first.
You would do that here:

All of your assumptions are correct but do you know of any other way than factory resetting the router because we have a lot of devices that are connected but if not then thank you for you time and support.

Factory rebooting won't require the various devices reconnecting as long as you haven't changed the default Wi-Fi name and password, or if you have then setting it back the same as it was.

Alright thanks I will try this
