I have just taken out Vodafone Broadband and I'm having difficulty connecting my smart bulbs to the network. They require a 2.4 GHz connection, but it says my Broadband is 5GHz.
Can anyone advise how to fix this?
Thanks
Jim

So your WiFi actually broadcasts on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, but it seems many smart devices require the device used to set them up to share the 2.4GHz band during setup.
The two simplest solutions are:
Change the SSID & WiFi pw on the VF router to the same as your old router
Find a mobile device that doesn't have 5GHz and use that to set the bulbs up.
If neither of those is possible then if you set up a personal hotspot on a third device, and have the settings mirror those of the router but only on the 2.4GHz band. The with the router powered down you can then use this to set up the bulbs! When everything is set up, you can turn off the hotspot and revert to using the router.

Personally I would just turn off the 5Ghz in the router whilst I set the bulbs up. (Not sure if that is possible on Pro)

Thanks for the help. I just reset to 2.4GHz to do the setup

If you are not on Pro, you can do it here:

thank you
Can you then change it back to not having the WiFi split once you’ve added the bulbs etc?

That's right @Duzza - you can change it back after if you need to 🙂
