Solution

Router re-starting roughly every hour.

Since 12.21 yesterday, (29/05/24) my Vox3.0v has been restarting roughly every hour.  It always gives the reboot reason as "System Self" which is no help really.  Firmware version is 19.4.0551-3261143-20231024185100-7efccd9e333e995b72430e4ef45c0f27f265fb5d

Until yesterday, the router was rock solid, but my HomeAssistant logs clearly show it restarting every hour.  Nothing has changed connection wise in my house for months, so I doubt its my other kit.  Is this a known thing with this router?  I'm over a year into my contract now so maybe its a wear and tear thing, although the stats on it show 4%CPU usage and 65% memory usage, which I would have thought was fine.

I have tried leaving it off for a while (fully disconnected) and factory resetting it.  Neither made a difference.Screenshot from 2024-05-30 06-02-54.png

Update.

After using the Broadband Service Test in my account yesterday, which picked up I was having drop outs, I had a text and call from Nancy in Support this morning.

After checking the lights on my router and connection from the wall, she stated she would reconfigure my router. Then waited for the router get back on line, she confirmed all was good her end and requested I reset the router using the pin hole on the back, again she waited for it to come back online.

Whilst waiting for all of this to happen, I explained it seemed to be dropping out hourly since Wednesday. She said she has had many other tickets with the same issue. I asked if what she was doing had fixed it and she said none of them have recontacted, so looks positive.

I have been asked to update my ticket if I have any drop outs in the next 24 hours.

Update.

Been 24 hours now and no drop outs.

Assuming that is a static I.P. provided to you by Vodafone, no.

No, sorry, just if advised to reset via pin hole will i lose my static ip addresses I've set for my devices sonos, cctv cameras etc?

In that case, yes, if you have configured them in the router.

But you may be able to backup the configuration and restore it afterward, but it apparently doesn't always work, especially if it gets new firmware.

Vodafone seemed to be aware of this issue, i had a 30 min phonecall in which problem seems to have been sorted. Advisor told me he updated firmware, whether he did or re configured something else it reset to factory default, interface on router webpage seems faster as well. Seems to have sorted it. Can't fault the help i was given.

i had same problem as well, it deconnected every hour +-5 mins.

i spent weeks resetting my amazon echos as they lost connection, and pulling my hair out. thinking it was an amazon fault.

my daughter started me on bee swarm simulator that needs stable connection, and it was only then i noticed every hour it was disconnecting.

and the router event log was cleared every hour.

i went through resetting the router wtc with new firmware etc over the phone with vodafone rep.

but time will tell if the problem is sorted out. or if i need to reset the router every couple of weeks.

The only way I fixed it was to purchase a 3rd party router, now it never reboots!
