Ive just upgraded to Vodafone 910 and only getting between 300mb to 600mb download speed. If i change over to the Vodafone router i get around 960mb.
The Asus 82U has been setup and working on 500mb for over a year without issue.
What do you think the issue could be here? The line is an Open Reach one. Do i need to change any settings to get the full speed like i do on the Vodafone Router?
Solved! Go to best answer.
Oh really!? That's a pain as I have legacy networks setup and all the settings from before. I better make some screen shots I guess. I don't need to add anything to the settings then? Is it really that old as a router? Can you recommend anything newer?
For anything decent (by today's standards) from Asus I'd say the RT-AX88U Pro or the RT-AX86U Pro, but that's not the problem. The problem is the cpu on your current router cannot handle the full "bells and whistles" but should easily saturate your fibre after a full reset.
It seems you are onto something. I've just disabled all the extra features like AIPRO, Adaptive QoS, traffic analyzer etc and I'm now getting much higher speeds.
It seems really strange to me that the router can't handle the features it was shipped with
Ok so I've been having issues with this router again with it only giving me half the speeds that I should be getting.
I have disabled all of the extra features but I'm only getting between 500-600 Mbps, if I plug in the Vodafone router I get the 900mbps that I should do.
Should I be trying something else here? It seems crazy to me that the Vodafone router is better at extracting the best speeds out of this connection and the expensive Asus one cannot.
I'd like to keep the Asus router as I prefer WiFi speeds that it offers. Will the merlin firmware help out?
