Well tried talking to support again to get a working username and password but it still does not work.

The home hub 5 connects and gets an ip but it will not connect using the given details. I did ask the lady on the phone if there was a higher level i could talk to but was informed that there is no higher level support available at the weekend. Really!!!!! Plus i was told that the BT HH5 is not a supported device . I now really regret switching to Vodafone and am acctually contemplating spending the money to get out of my contract and go with a provider that acctually provides real support.

I hope someone from vodafone uk sees this and is willing to acctually talk to me about this.

Have they given you the username in the correct format?

for home users thats along the lines of:  dsl1234567890@ broadband.vofafone.co.uk (without the space)

for business users I believe it's:  dsl1234567890@ businessbroadband.vodafone.co.uk (no space)

It's also useful if you can get them to copy and paste the password into chat or into an email, as some customer service agents seem to use a font where they can't always distinguish all the letters and numbers properly!

Yep all entered correctly with the @broadband.Vodafone.co.uk

For some reason web chat just won't load so had to do it over the phone for the third time and the abjectly refuse to email me login and password..

If you are talking about the social media chat via Facebook there have been issues reported in the media relating to FB moving the UK accounts from the EU servers to US ones. Messenger on my Android device has not been reliable for a few weeks now.

No the chat option on the Vodafone website. I won't go near anything like Facebook or Twitter..

Is the HH5 not locked to BT? I thought it could not be used with another ISP.

It is running openwrt.. Had it work on BT and Plusnet just fine..

Home Hubs will run on BT and Plusnet because they are both BT. I hadn't realised that it was possible to run openwrt on HHs.

£20 for a flashed on eBay..

I quite agree. I don't Twitter either and Facebook will hopefully soon be a thing of the past for me.
