Xbox Series X wired connection issue

Hi, hoping someone could help.

Since switching to Vodaphone I have been experiencing issues with my Xbox connecting to the the network via a wired connection. What I find is sometimes if I restart the Xbox enough, it pics up the wired connection.

What I have tried (on the Xbox):

Reset MAC - same issue

NAT Type set to open which is correct

Did a factory reset of the Xbox - same issueHowever when I connected the Xbox to the Wi-Fi - works fine

What I tried on the router;

Power cycle - same issue

Manually added DNS (8.8.8.8) - same issue

Changed Ethernet cable - same issue

Other devices connected via a Ethernet cable work fine.

At the point I don’t believe this is a Xbox issue but an issue with the router or broadband. Is there something that maybe stopping/making the wired connection intermittent as I’m not sure what else to do.

As I said I had no issues when on Virgin using a wired Ethernet connection.

And they won’t. They have a new router now

Got the new router and it made it worse now it does it wireless and wired. Before the old router only did it when wired. Definitely something at Vodafone’s end they won’t look into or can’t!

I have just moved from Virgin to Vodafone today. On the full fibre 910.  My Xbox X series is and has always been wireless. With Virgin I was getting around 200mbps when doing speed tests and that was for virgin 250mb broadband. I assumed with Vodafone 910 I'd be averaging around 600-700mbs in the room I'm in which is adjacent to where the router is in the 'front room'. However, the Xbox is only getting a download speed of around 140 - 160mbps. My mobile phone placed next to my console and a speed test done through Ookla is getting 690-700 which is what I'd expect. So why is my Xbox X series only getting a fraction of the speed I should be getting wirelessly. I have tried compatibility mode and disabling ipv6 no difference whatsoever. Is this an issue with this new white router I've read on previous pages?

Hi, I have the ultra hub and I've wired the Xbox to a switch but no matter what I try I get a download speed of 950mbps but upload always fails. Can't download any games etc

Any ideas?

Thanks

I’ve be having similar problems for months, and stuck to WiFi to save the headache, but I think I may have found a solution. About a week in and no issues so far.

solution in question is this - https://amzn.eu/d/1MEH8wP

found a post of Reddit (can’t find it now) which suggested this solution and it seems to work - no idea why!

@Getts001 Using a switch has been discusses in this forum already.
