Hi, Just joined VF from Sky, product is full fibre 2 with landline, broadband worked from moment it was connected but the phone did not come up, after chatting with CS they said it was still being set up and the following day it did have a dial tone and I could call out and accept calls but had no ring tone, after reading your forum I tried connecting a micro filter and now rings but I cant call 17070 it just dials and then gives a continuous tone, any suggestions why that should be ?

Strange that the Openreach engineer suggested I try 17070 to confirm the number then ?

17070 is available to test PSTN lines only. The reason you have no ringtone is because you need an RJ11 to BT adapter with built in ring capacitor.

Hi, Thanks for confirming, strange the Openreach eng didnt know that .... got ringtone working with the ADSL microfilter, guess theres a capacitor in there as well.
