Our Vodafone landland / broadband contract for a small business was up for renewal last month, which I renewed with a VOIP / Digital Voice service. I subsequently found out that the Vodafone call forwarding / divert feature which was part of our old contract was not available with VOIP / Digital Voice. Vodafone did advise that we could purchase a new VOIP handset, and use this to enable call forwarding / divert.
After some research I purchased a Yealink W70B Base Station (which connects to the Vodafone router via ethernet cable) and a Yealink W73P handset. Vodafone also supplied SIP credentials, in the following format:
Username: voi0017xxxxx
Password: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
SIP proxy: xbn.xx.bbvoice.vodafone.co.uk
SIP registrar: resvoip.vodafone.co.uk
SIP URI: voi0017xxxxx
In addition, Vodafone also supplied a static IP address.
My understanding is that the admin page on the W70B should be accessed, and the above credentials entered. However, to date I have been unable to get the phone to register. Our old phone does work when connected via a VOIP adapter into the back to the router, but this does not support call forwarding. We really want to get the Yealink phone to work; has anyone managed to install a similar set up? Also, what value should be used for "SIP Server" within the W70B admin page?
Many thanks

The Yealink W70B can be configured to work with a 3rd party router and Vodafone FTTP because I've done it. I tried to post instructions but it got marked as spam and taken down. So I guess it will just work for me, pity.

Fake news.
Yealink (any of them) will not work with vodafone's digital voice service.
Post evidence - something like a link to screenshots of all the necessary settings on Google images.

Are you saying it works with Vodafone's VoIP service, or are you perhaps using a different VoIP provider?

Interesting way to add the User_agent parameter. I can see it took some work. This may lead to some other Yealinks being added.
Post these details to the following thread and I'll add the Yealink to the compatible list

Hi @oldajip
I'm thinking of replacing my old Gigaset phone which dates back circa 2008!, I had looked at the new Yealink 760P (W56H/W70B) combo but was unclear that it had RJ11 connection which was stopping me ordering it, at least if it came with RJ11 I could still plug it directly into the router if ethernet didn't work.
Are you saying that the W70B base will work with the Vodafone router (UltraHub) using ethernet nothing else to buy, or only with a third party router?
Does the Yealink W70B base station only have ethernet connection to the router or is there a plain old telephone cable connection just in case? What handset are you using with it, W56H?
I'm interested in getting better HD audio quality primarily (Cat-Iq) but future proofing and obviously cosmetic looks is also on the list. How is the audio quality?
thanks

No IP phone works with with Vodafone's Digital Voice service with the Vodafone router. The router itself intercepts the voip/sip traffic for it's own built-in ATA.
To use a voip phone for Digital Voice you also need a third party router, or a third party voip provider.
Nothing will "improve" the quality of vodafone's Digital Voice service.

That sucks then. I don't expect to 'improve' vodafone Digital Voice since that its impossible to improve the source but a lower sampled codec will degrade it, surely thats the issue hence why you usually have a choice of 3 commonly supported codecs. I suspect I'm using the lowest 2
So you confirm the only connection is via ethernet?

Three choices

Cheers, I don't want the last since I get all inclusive calls on my plan and I want to keep my number, I'm loath to spend on a new router since the Vodafone one is working very well (for me at least) so I'm back to RJ11. I think I'll give up, at least it didn't cost me anything 🙄
