Hello, I informed vodafone I am selling my house on 25 November, but when I rang up vodafone have told me they cannot cancel the phone line until Dec 16. This means I can be billed for all calls made by the new owner for many weeks. How can I protect myself from such bills?
Thanks,
Mark

How about setting up a divert to another phone for incoming, then call-barring for outgoing? I know it'll make it awkward to make calls but mobiles have inclusive minutes anyway or even unlimited. Peace of mind is what you want.

Unfortunately Vodafone does not have any feature to bar outgoing calls, so that won’t work
Thanks

Hi @shefmarkh! The new owners of the property will be able to set up Home Broadband with whatever provider they choose; if this is an Open Reach provider, they'll be able to process a working line takeover which will cancel the contract and you won't be paying for any of their usage.
