Our phone number has changed after getting a new router

We had our b/band upgraded last week, it ended up with us needing a new router so we got the new Power hub sent. All seemed well until my wife phoned home and couldn't get through. I used the landline to call my mobile and was shocked to see a completely different number with a code for Reading in Berkshire 😮 we live in Worc's and have had our number for 25 years

We phoned up and got through to someone who seemed a bit vague and went to ask advice, they came back and said someone will phone us next week and I'm not sure if i have been  fobbed off.  I am very deaf but can use the telecoil on my hearing aid for the landline phone so I am very reliant on it as I can't hear anything on a mobile

It sounds like the new router hasn't been correctly provisioned, you need to contact Vodafone urgently before your original number is "lost" for good.

Call 08080 034 515 or use live chat 08080 034 515.

I'd suggest making a complaint as well, just for good measure.

I tried the chat and got passed on to 2 different operators (in India?)  and after a lot of questions they said they need to reconfigure the router, I just reset it and our old phone number is back, so top marks to them for fixing it without fobbing me off like the previous one who said " someone will call you next Monday" 😮  All in all, very happy so thanks for the advice Jayach
