Porting landline from Talktalk

My broadband service started on 3/3/22. I spoke to Vodafone prior to this to see if my landline could be ported over and was told that I just needed to contact Vodafone when my service started. I did so on 3/3/22 but was told that Talktalk still held my phone number, and to call them back when I’ve spoken to them about disconnecting the line. I spoke with Vodafone again on 15/3/22 but was told that I should have contacted Vodafone before the service started. They then backtracked when they read the entry from when I contacted them on 3/3/22 and said they’d look into it then call me yesterday. Unfortunately this didn’t happen. I spoke with Talktalk just to confirm whether the landline was released and they told me that the line was disconnected and taken over by the new provider on 3/3/22, which is what I thought was supposed to happen in the first place (got bounced about a bit but the three different people I spoke to said that the line was disconnected).

 

Does anyone know where I can get help from? It’s frustrating having to spend hours calling back and forth and get nowhere. I don’t want to end up missing the deadline for porting my landline over.

There are a a few posts recently saying that the number porting hasn't worked properly, don't know if they got sorted, but if the port doesn't happen at the time of the take over it seems a devil's own job to get it done later.

You should certainly have requested the port at the time of signing up. (there is a box to tick if you do it on-line)

If you are getting nowhere with support, I can only suggest raising a complaint. Complaints Code of Practice | Vodafone UK
