I receive 4g data using an ZYXTEL LTE7480-M804 combined external aerial/modem/router and normally get very good LTE data speeds (approx. 30 MBs download). My normal cell tower is located in Exmouth, Devon and provides both Band 1 and Band 20 signals in a westerly direction to my home postcode of EX6 8HP with a Cell ID of 1629474 (shown by the router).
This morning this cell stopped being received and instead I receive a very poor signal on Band 20 only with a cell ID of 3236884. I have no location information for this cell tower. Download speeds vary between nothing and 0.2 MBs – i.e. unusable.
Network status checker for EX6 8HP shows a good 4g signal indoors and outdoors with no network issues, The Vodafone chat help person is providing a new SIM card just in case its a SIM fault, but he could not tell me if Cell ID 1629474 was offline or there were engineering work not shown by the checker. He told me the correct cell site number for my postcode was 36100, but I could not find this using Cellmapper. Can anyone offer any information before I have to take the mast with the router down to change the sim!
