Hi,
As seen by other customers (thread 1, thread 2, thread 3) , my connection is being throttled to 10mb despite claims there is no traffic shaping on the max plan. I have an external omni-directional antenna, 1km from the mast with direct line of sight. Initial connection i get 70-80mb, within an hour, this has dropped to 10mb and never goes back up.
I will be forced to complain to Ofcom if this isn't resolved, i purchased this contract as i am home office based in a rural location and i was assured that Vodafone was truly unlimited and no traffic shaping was applied on the max plans.
Thanks
Ryan

Hi @atomicrobokid, are you performing the speed tests at the same time each day when you see the speed drop to 10Mbps and what device are you using the SIM Card in? If you could add the full postcode to your Community profile and let us know when you've done this, that'll be great. We can then take a look at what service and speeds are expected in the area.

Hi Mark,
I've done that for you now,
Speed tests are ran at various times of day, anywhere from 5am - midnight over the course of the past week, trying to isolate if it's peak traffic, or not. The router is a Huawei 4G CPE Pro 2 connected to an external antenna on the top of the house, pointed at tower: eNB ID 6384 - LTE with good line of sight.
Like I said the I initially get blazing fast speeds, so it is capable of that speed, but after an hour or so of settling I notice a massive slowdown just doing occasional browsing and a few video calls. Then when i check again the speed has dropped right down. Only devices connected to the network are my laptop and mobile so i can control what is eating up any bandwidth. Monitored internal network usage and nothing is eating up the bandwidth that i'm not aware of (i.e. no software updates are downloading to cause the slowness).
Definitely seems like it's traffic shaping of some sort, speed tests seem to bounce around the 10mb mark, almost exactly which feels a bit artificial. Occasionally if i'm lucky it goes slightly higher (assuming different shaping profiles are applied at different times of day?) - I've just ran at test and got 13mb.
The only other thought i had is the router is auto selecting an incorrect apn, but looking at what it has chosen, it is the recommended vodafone one.
Thanks
Ryan

Thanks for adding your postcode @atomicrobokid. I've checked this and we've no issues in your area at this time, the mast serving you (8812), is working as expected and has experienced no recent outages. I can see you've mentioned your service max's at 10mbps and this is the speed our standard unlimited plans are limited to. So we can make sure there's been no confusion over the plan added to your number, please check this through the My Vodafone app, by popping us a message through one of our social channels where we can check your plan, look further into the issues you're experiencing and if needed raise a case with our Network team.

Hi Mark,
I checked and its the unlimited max plan.
I had a text last week saying there was service issues in the area (and a subsequent one saying resolved) and it's not been right since.
What I can't understand is how I can get 60-70 Meg for a time then it drops to 5-15 within minutes unless it's some sort of shaping being applied. Nothing my end is eating the bandwidth

Also, can we raise a case now from this conversation as I'm not explaining all this again to someone else and going through all the same basic checks I've already done. Something is clearly not working as intended

As we'd need to take some personal/contact details from you @atomicrobokid, we'd need you to reach out to us via one of the channels linked in my previous message. When you do, include a link to this thread and your username to save you repeating yourself and doing the same steps again.
