I've just come back from a 4 day trip to the South of France in and near Monaco. I was very surprised at how poor the mobile network was in much of the area we stayed in. I rarely saw 4G outside of Monte Carlo and a lot of the time it was Edge and not even 3G. At one point I had to connect to Vodafone Italy to get a 4G signal to be able to send some emails. It made me appreciate how much better the network is here, as the Côte d'Azur is not exactly the middle of no where with no rich and famous people to cater for.
