Apple - good or bad?

Today Apple has announced the largest ever corporate quarterly profit of $18 billion - a staggering figure. What makes Apple so successful despite charging very high prices? How can they sell 75 million iPhones in a quarter?

Thoughts anyone?

The point I was also making, in a rather indirect way is, that by sticking to things they know work, or they can make work, Apple have built up a reputation for reliability.   The perceived view (which isn't far off the mark) is that you buy and Apple device, take it out of the box and it just works - people have said that since the early days of the Mac.   I don't like the "our way of no way" approach but, if you aren't interested in the internals of your device and don't want to spend time on setup, flexibility isn't going to be high on your list of priorities.
