That is very thoughtful and honest of you.
The best thing to do is to take the phone into a Vodafone Store.
Unfortuately, with data protection regulations, without the owners permission to access details, they won't be in any position to help locate the owner.
If the phone has been lost, it's likely the owner will have reported this to Vodafone blocked the SIM and most likely IMEI blocked the phone.
It would however, be nice to return the phone to the owner.
