What did you do when we all had to stay in?

Hey Community! It's certainly been one interesting year so far - I hope you've all been feeling well, safe and connected with each other 😊

I wanted to check in with you all here and find out how we've all been doing during these strange times!

What have you been up to over the last few months?

Is there anything you achieved while staying at home that you didn't think you would?

Did you finally get that bit of DIY done or did you find a new hobby?

What's that one thing you'll share with future generations when they ask 'but what did you doooo when you all had to stay in?'

Personally, I'd finally sorted my room out (!) to give me space to work from home, do my bit of painting (pictures - no DIY for me!) or editing videos. I even got myself a Nintendo Switch Lite where my other achievement happened: getting a 5 star island on Animal Crossing New Horizons 🤣

Get sharing/bragging with your achievements below, no matter how small or big 👏Don't be shy, share any pics you have too 😊

Hi @Tash  and everyone.

I was furloughed for just under a month and volunteered to go back to work in a heartbeat when asked using appropriate Social Distancing of course.

While I was furloughed I and my partner discovered parts of our local park we hadn't seen before and got out for the hours walk we were allowed. The walking did us good.

And we communicated  a lot more instead of being passing ships in the night due to work patterns.

I missed my 3 adult children and our 5 Grandchildren the most due to the lockdown however. Probably the hardest part for us to be honest.

I have been retired for 18 months now (early retirement 😀) so was used to not working. Spent a lot of time sorting out the garden. Desperately missed our 3 year old granddaughter, also missed our adult children. Still managed to get out for walks and been spending a lot of time on the golf course since they reopened.

Thankfully my family and friends have mostly managed to avoid catching it, few mild cases and one serious case but he is recovering slowly.

Hi, I am new here.

i am classic autistic-mostly non verbal and communicate with a specialist iPad ‘AAC’ app, I ha e mild intellectual disability, severe epilepsy and a lot of other things.

i went crazy when the lockdown happened as my routines were halted-suddenly no day centre, no art studio (I go to an art studio for people with intellectual disability)no going to the local shop every day for a drink etc it affected my behaviors and mental health hugely.

My mum had onlyalso  just been diagnosed with bladder cancer and I did not understand why doctors were refusing to treat her.

the art studio are amazing and have not spent much time out of my life at all, they have given me a spare iPad so I can communicate with mine and use the spare one for zoom sessions to help me keep doing my art and also to keep me closer to my family.

i have developed a lot of confidence and skills I never had before such as communicating and basic interaction with people I don’t know thanks to zoom,I’m now working with an art gallery remotely, helping post masters students understand artists with LD better for a long time and hopefully will work voluntarily with disabled children in some non academic creative Or sensory form at some point, which I never thought would happen in my life,I thought I was never going to amount to anything as that is what so many people told me.
my mum recently started treatment so I am feeling a lot more positive for the future.

icjoined this community as I have some questions I need to ask,but being largely non verbal I cannot just phone up Vodafone and I’d rather get the answer myself in a accessible way than relieing on others to do it as usual. I hope everyone is well,I joined Vodafone recently, had router and Apple TV box delivered today.my family are happy Vodafone customers for broadband and phone I think.

I've been away and missed this thread, I feel like I need to join in 😂 We've been doing lots of camping and walking recently. We've wanted to keep active and go on 'holiday' etc, but still manage to socially distance. So we've converted the car into a camper van and bought a tent that fits to it perfectly like an awning.

The dogs have really enjoyed themselves and so have we - we've been to Hartington, Shrewsbury and Buxton just in the past few weeks :Smiling:

When we we'rent allowed out at all, I rotted my brain on video games; I've spent a fortune on my Nintendo Switch, PC and PS4 😌

Like most people, I started lock down of by working my way through every type of biscuit available (mainly cause everything else was sold out). After a week or so, I started doing something constructive! Now we have a much improved patio, gone is the old paving and we have gravel in it's place we also have a couple of rustic planters made from old pallets I salvaged from a neighbour and on the other side a wild flower patch which is covered in poppies. In the last few weeks, I've started cycling again, joined by my daughter. It's great fun and helps work off all those biscuits 🍪🍪

Hi, I have been reading that A LOT of people just didn't know what to do inside the house, but fortunately I had  a lot to do and I am happy that I had all this time to use just for me.

I started to go for long long walks with my dog, bike rides and started doing exercises every day (I decided that it was the right time to lose some weight and get fit), also started tiding my garage and garden, and did some woodwork too.

I am super happy that I decided to do so because I  really understood how much time we have and how much time we waste everyday. It opened my eyes.

Still don't get those people who are just on their bed all day saying "I have nothing to do". Just stand up and find something to do :Smiling:

I'll jump on the bandwagon here! Like most people, I've been TRYING to keep myself in some sort of shape by going on a jog here and there. I've learnt how to complete a Rubiks cube (I know, weird flex), done a LOT of online shopping and had very early mornings thanks to 2 forever-hungry cats. I've also done myself the fashion pleasure of purchasing, not 1, but 2 pairs of Crocs, no regrets 😂

So what I've been doing for the past months is that i play Mobile Legends, I've installed my TikTok to do some of the duet covers and then I play Coin Master as well together with my girlfriend and then continuing watching videos on Youtube like Masterchef, Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, Bar Rescue, Top Gear UK (Going back When Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May were the host), NBA and Boxing.

But most of the times I'll play Mobile Legends to get my rank up to Mythical Glory.
