End of contract issue - why do I have to give 30 days notice!?!
My contract ends on 04/02/23, I no longer want to continue with the service but I've been told that I must give 30days notice!! why do I need to give 30 days notice when the contract ends?
I'm not asking for it to end early just for it not to roll over so I the contract is for 2 years and I wish to leave at the point why do I need to cancel 30 days before this date? This can't be correct and I'm sure it didn't state that in the terms and conditions when I signed up.
Whats the point in having a contract when it just carries on unless I give 30 days notice? Why can't I just ring up 15 days for example to confirm that I don't want it to roll on?

I just reached out to the chat and they told me if I cancel now, I would get termination fees. 20/03/2025 is when my contract ends. 30 days from now is 04/03/2025, which is within the last month of the contract. Maybe I'll make a phone call tomorrow to check my termination fees.

Are you just terminating or moving to a new supplier?
The ETF is calculated on the outstanding monthly fees, so if you have paid the last months fee, that will be 0, so any calculation will result in no ETF.

If I wait to cancel until after I have paid for the last month, I would have days outside of the contract still under service, meaning days costing more per month than with a plan.

How do you pay? If you give 30 days notice, any direct debit will still be paid on time.
And a few day out of contract will not be a lost of money.
And you didn't say if you are just cancelling or moving to a new supplier.

It is a loss of money because it is at an elevated price and I expect I wont be using much so it is a waste of money if I dont cancel it as soon as possible. This is also why I use prepaid sim for my mobile. These auto rolling plans are stupid. No such opt available for broadband though

Seriously? I'm now out of contract, its £4.00 pounds a month extra (£2.00 loss of discount and £2.00 for OOC)
You are talking about a few days either way, it's peanuts.
And you still haven't said if you are just cancelling or moving to a new supplier.

It's ~£13 extra on top of the original ~£23 for the month. I could pay for gym membership and more than 4 days of grocery with that money. I also said many times I am cancelling. So, I do not know why you kept asking.
