Credit due on closed account but no direct debit

I cancelled my broadband services and am due a credit. I did not pay for my services via direct debit i simply paid using my bank card when my bill was produced every month.

I spoke to live chat who advised me I would need to wait for the final bill to be generated, THEN add a direct debit onto the account to recieve my refund and then this DD could be taken off.

My final bill was produced on the 4th of feb and says -£218.82 but the account was automatically closed. There is no simply no option for me to add a direct debit so how am I supposed to get the money now owed to me? I'm not getting anywhere with live chat. 

Please see copy of final bill and also transcript of original chat advising me to set up a DD after my bill was generated.
