So I am getting a pulsating low signal buzzing noise from around 1010 to 1550 khz which I never had before my installation. If I put a radio right near the round disc even with both the router and BT box switched off it's realty bad bit like going near a cheap power supply
Is the cable going to my house from the telegraph the other side of the road to me causing this ? What's odd if I go outside and put the radio near the square grey box I don't pick up anything at all

But is it going through the same hole as the optic fibre sealed with the "round disc"?
If nothing has been changed with the original telephone cable it's unlikely to be the cause of the interference.

Yes

In that case why do I get bad interference with a radio right next to it when everything is unplugged ?!

@fiberfan Were you aware of any interference at that precise location before the installation?

Nope

"Nope"
Because you never had a reason to look for any problems there.
Stop hunting for problems that aren't.

What are you on about ? I often monitor certain MW frequencies for the reasons I stated if you bothered to read the post - this frequency range was clear of said interference before my fiber installation. But never mind you go and insult someone else instead... off you go... bye

First it was the FM quality phone calls and now it's this. What's next?
See ya!

@Ripshod wrote:@fiberfan I've just had alook at the "disc" in my install. It's just a dumb plastic cover that prevents the fibre getting damaged and has zero electrical/electronic inside
That is what I suspected, it's just a cover to "tidy up" the installation.
The reason the interference is inside the wall and not outside it, is the wall.
Simples.

I didn't know there was nowt in this round cover. As I said when I have my sony MW radio right near to this disc though I get strong interference and this is with everything unplugged so I am thinking - as I said - the cable from the telegraph pole to the grey sqaure box outside is radiating something which is affecting MW perhaps...Yes I will ask on the CB / amateur radio fb forum soon

As you are on FTTP. it's unlikely there is anything other than a optical fibre in the cable. (unless it is hybrid, as I said earlier)
But if it is hybrid there should still be nothing on it, unless you are still using the old telephone sockets. (although I suppose it could just be acting as an aerial)
