Home Broadband Static IP

Hi

Do Vodafone still provide Static IP addresses on Home Broadband (FTTC) services? I was initially told yes, but then when I asked for confirmation just before hitting go on the service I was told they're not available.

I had Vodafone home broadband up until last year with a Static IP, so it definitely used to be the case, but I appreciate things change.

Before the cut-off date then.

Is there an announcement of that cut off date anywhere?

I'm just trying to get a definitive answer, as support don't really seem to know for sure

No!

Place an order and let us know if you get one. If not, cancel using the cooling off period.

That's too much of a pain and a risk of ending up with nothing, As it stands, as I can't confirm they can provide it, I'm looking elsewhere. I've found another provider that can definitely provide one, though their support is known to be pretty poor unfortunately so it's a bit of a trade off.

Worse than Vodafone? I find that difficult to believe.

Hi,

For what it's worth Vodafone still list Static IP address on their latest pricing/terms for those joining from 31-Jan-2025 at this link https://www.vodafone.co.uk/cs/groups/configfiles/documents/document/hbb-price-plan-310125.pdf

I have had a static IPv4 address for 18months and this was retained when I ipgraded back in Dec2024. I know that when IPv6 went live for me around last April, that they didn't offer static IP for that. I wonder if there is some confusion over the ip version or if they have changed their policy?

There's no point in having a static IPv6 address for the router. Each device you have is given a unique IPv6 address which you can directly connect to.
