IF YOU ARE USING A THIRD-PARTY ROUTER THAT WORKS 100% WITHOUT BUGS.PLEASE PM ME THE MAKE AND MODEL SO I CAN UPDATE THE LIST
The first thing you need to do is ask Vodafone for your username and password. live chat with Vodafone is best because you can copy and paste the name and password into the router. ( some users did write it down wrong. password is lower and upper case. username watch out for zero and o )

TP-Link Archer VR400 V3 AC1200 Wireless MU-MIMO Dual Band (1st Advanced tab, change the Operation Mode to Wireless Router Mode (the ONT is acting as a modem, hence it will not work if you are in DLS Modem Router Mode). 2nd Do not enable VLAN ID or it will not work! Vodafone will tell you to set it to 101, if you do this it will not work! Keep the default MTU size (1480), do not change it to 1492, as suggested in several posts in this thread, or it will not work!.

RT-AX86U ?
(from user) I managed to connect Asus DSL-AX82U modem/router and use it without Vodafone Wi-Fi hub finally. When use Asus router tutorial choose network provider as BT - Infinity. VLAN ID come up automatically as 101 then just copy your Vodafone username and password

Yes. I have set it up in Bridge mode successfully. So that works.
It's just really annoying that I can set up the WAN connection for some reason. I may return the router I got and try another one. I am really out of ideas and there is very limited support on how to set this up for Vodafone. Annoyingly it seems to be much easier with other providers.

Ok, well, listen... As one FINAL thought...
What if I save my routers settings, and then EMAIL you the file
You can then just change your username and password, and hopefully it will all go ok?
If it does not, then it can only really be an error or, yeah the router might be iffy.
I have the ASUS DSL AC68U of course so it will ONLY be for that
Alternatively, I could upload a screenshot?

Unless using a completely different firmware on the Vodafone modem/router there is no provision on the VF hardware to support a WiFibridged connection - this is different to using a modem in bridged mode or even using an additional router as an extender. The only situation where you would even need to be using VLAN IDS would be if using a modem which the VF device will not work as!

I ended up setting mine up in the same LAN i.e. plugged my router from the internet port into one of the LAN ports on the modem. Then setting the router to get it's IP via DHCP which would get the IP address from the modem.

Thanks to your useful guide, I was able to setup a Zyxel VMG1312-B10A (Firmware V1.00(AAJZ.17)C0 in bridge mode with a Peplink Balance One as the PPPoE router behind it.
A useful troubleshooting step was to use a PPPoE connection from a laptop to ensure username and password were working before configuring the router.
Learning points I had were the 101 VLAN is needed on the bridge but not the router.

Apologies if this is a silly question, but…
None of the listed routers for Gigafast have a wired telephone port, as far as I can see.
Does that mean that if I want to use the phone service, with my gigafast contract, I have to stick with the VF router?
Or is there some way to access my VF VOIP service directly, via LAN/wifi, from a regular VOIP device?
thanks very much!

Just wanted to mention that you can add the FRITZ!Box 7530 to the list of routers that successfully work with a Gigafast connection.
I have one from a previous ISP, so thought I'd try it on (my currently not working very well, but that's another issue) Gigafast connection, and it connects and works perfectly (when the connection itself is working).

Ill add that where a 3rd party router gives a setting 802.1q enter 101 & also set 802.1p to 0
Im currently using the Zyxel XMG3927-B50A modem / router with Vodafone Fibre broadband.

I can see no reason why WhatsApp and 3rd party VOIP solutions wouldn't work, but I've not seen anyone say they have been able to use the Vodafone VOIP except by using the VF router in conjunction with 3rd other routers.
