IF YOU ARE USING A THIRD-PARTY ROUTER THAT WORKS 100% WITHOUT BUGS.PLEASE PM ME THE MAKE AND MODEL SO I CAN UPDATE THE LIST
The first thing you need to do is ask Vodafone for your username and password. live chat with Vodafone is best because you can copy and paste the name and password into the router. ( some users did write it down wrong. password is lower and upper case. username watch out for zero and o )

TP-Link Archer VR400 V3 AC1200 Wireless MU-MIMO Dual Band (1st Advanced tab, change the Operation Mode to Wireless Router Mode (the ONT is acting as a modem, hence it will not work if you are in DLS Modem Router Mode). 2nd Do not enable VLAN ID or it will not work! Vodafone will tell you to set it to 101, if you do this it will not work! Keep the default MTU size (1480), do not change it to 1492, as suggested in several posts in this thread, or it will not work!.

Little update on mine. My line continued to degrade down to 34,999 on the stats. BT openreach arrived today. Found that the wire behind the master socket was looped and wrapped and cut it back. He then reset the line back into training mode. We also replaced the phone line cable as his new socket was the rj11 to rj11 so we found the original Vodafone one and not my 3m curry's one. My speed is now full whack at 80mb.
I'm going try the Vigor with the Vodafone cable in a weeks time when the line is hopefully locked to just see if it works and I'll know for sure. But at the moment the Vodafone router is basically a modem and my Asus is now my WiFi router.

Hi,
Id like to replace my VF supplied router for our FTTP (Openreach) connection, with a Ubiquiti UniFi Cloud Gateway Ultra (as I have 2 x Ubiquiti APs).
Would it work?
Cheers.

Can confirm that the GL-inet Flint2 AX6000 wifi 6 router works. Good to be able to have a non flakey home network without having to play musical ports just to SSH again.
Thanks for your post btw, most useful to know the best way to get the PPPoE login deets without having to call them.

Ok, I can confirm Deco X50-5g works 100%, I have not seen any difference when change MTU from 1480 to 1492, but left it on 1492. Hope that helps someone.
I'm confused, what has a 5G router got to do with Vodafone Home broadband.
Perhaps you meant to post this in Mobile Broadband - Community home (vodafone.co.uk)

X50-5g can be used as 5G router or normal router, already spoke with vodafone and have my PPPOE details, all set, getting 890 - 840 Mbps, all sorted...

Thanks to a super techy friend of mine, I am now using a UniFi Cloud Gateway Ultra with my Vodafone (Openreach) connection.
The VF router is tucked away safely in a cupboard and no longer in use.

Hi,
I’m thinking of purchasing this router to replace the VF router as well. How easy is it to setup?

Hi gipjon / all
Is the BT Openreach indoor wall mounted network termination point (the actual ONT being the box outside the house) a modem? I want to connect a LinkSys MX4200 mesh system, using the first node as my router. It was all working OK when I was on ADSL as I had a DrayTek Vigor 167 modem - which of course won't be any good for FTTP. I have been told that the Openreach point can be plugged directly into the MX4200; I have configured the DSL username and password as newly provided by Vodafone and set a VDSL of 101 (and tried without). No joy.
Do I need a new, separate modem between the NTP and the MX4200 router, or have I missed a configuration issue?
Many thanks!
