Printer Connection

Has anyone successfully connected a printer to the router via the USB socket creating a shared printer. Looking to use this set up rather than having printer connected directly to my laptop, which is Windows 8.

Tried following a Youtube tutorial but whilst it appeared to go OK the Test Page would not print. Is there a specific IP suffix for Vodafone routers like other manufacturers have ?

Any help much appreciated.

I have connected my printer with the router through the wireless connection for using a shared printer. My printer is HP Designjet T520 which is a wireless printer that's why it possible. But for that printer which doesn't have the wireless features for connecting with router must need to use the USB socket connection. Although this process is quite a conventional method nowadays the electrical world focusing on wireless gadgets. So the wireless printer is a good choice for connecting with the router for use as a shared connection.

Hi, I have had the same issues with my new Vodafone router & my wireless Canon printer not connecting. I called up the support after many chats on the online support & no one was able to resolve my issue. A senior manager called me after I decided to complain & also was told by the gentleman on the phone that Canon will need to resolve the issue as Vodafone sis their best to upgrade my wifi. I am very unhappy with this. I will not be renewing my Vodafone contract after this & will go back to my old provider. I have had many wifi routers before & never had any issues until now.

Thanks

@ahmedsamy

You joined the forum to say thanks on a 6 year old thread?

Do you have a scam link you would like to share with us?

You are thanking someone from a year and half old post!  Maybe a 👍 would be better :Smiley_with_tongue_out:

I think this is exactly my situation but I am hoping for better. Let's see if the chat comes up with anything.

@ruthev

From your other post, it would seem your problem is a little different, as you are using a Mac.

Unfortunately I know nothing about Macs, so would be unable to help.

I'm just buying a cable to go from printer to mac book air.

thanks though.
