Using THG3000 on another broadband provider network - Onestream

My elderly step-dad has moved away from Vodafone to Onestream and selected to keep his THG3000 router (knowing that Onestream use the Vodafone infrastructure so assumed it would be fine).

Onestream have provided their user name and password:-

dsl000000000@onestreamltd.vodafone.net

p/w: xxxxxxxx

Please can someone help identify where within the THG3000 set-up pages/tabs that this data needs to be entered? Onestream have not been able to offer any help on this matter - other than search the internet!

The router is showing a broadband connection but we can't access the internet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks.

I got it with vodafone broadband and then switched to Shell Fibre and the Vodafone router worked.

Also I have managed to get my vodofone routher to connect to the Onestream router.

you have to connect to LAN port from Onestream to vodafone router.

on Vodafone router you have to turn off DHCP (uncheck enable)

and then the wifi works on vodafone router.

the only thing I noticed is that my broadband lags or gets stuck on devices.

@toweruk  If you have plugged the VF router into the OS one, like this;

local devices --> VF Router --> OS Router --> Internet

then you have not connected the VF router to the other ISP, but have "stacked" your routers and the VF one is behaving like a switch. The lag you are experiencing may well be due to "double NAT" causing problems.

is there any way i can reduce the lag?

@toweruk  Just use one router. If there's still lag then it's possibly within the ISP's zone of control.

The router may not be on that IP address in your setup. Ask the other router what IPs it has given out.

Yes there is. Box the THG3000 up and return it to Vodafone as you're legally bound to do at the end of your contract. Just by talking about this on here you're admitting to breaking that requirement.

well they should have sent me a pre paid envelope! perhaps you can pay for the return?

I don't think that is true, it certainly wasn't 3 years ago, which is when I got my THG3000.

Return was optional or ensure it was recycled responsibly.

If you have a Onestream router (which model is it) why do you need to use the THG3000?

I was previously asking if you got a router from Shell, and which model it was.

you have to connect to LAN port from Onestream to vodafone router.

Are you connecting to the WAN interface of the Vodafone router or the LAN? If WAN try LAN instead, that way you won't have double NAT and the Vodafone router will basically be an access point.

Im connected via LAN on vodafone router as WAN does not work

I have to look for my shell router as it has been in storage for a while

I have some of my wifi devices connected to vodafone router and also I require more LAN ports? as the onestream router only has 4 LAN ports.

its a TP-Link TD W9960

Since disabling DHCP on vodafone router I can no longer access th router via 192.168.1.1 any tips?

Thanks
