Did you ever find out if a longer cable or alternative adapter is available? I’ve just had my broadband installed and the cable from the fibre connection box doesn’t reach the plug socket without an extension lead, which isn’t ideal.
Provided you are not trying to extend things too far, you can pick up barrel connector extension cables from the likes of Amazon or eBay for a couple of quid. The important thing is that you know the dimensions of the barrel connector!
