ipv6 settings

Hi just been upgraded to full fiber via openreach and vodafone has enabled ipv6 on my connection i am using my own router to connect but am struggling to put the settings in for ipv6 and vodafone isnt helpful i have read they have implimented dual stack ipv6 and my router is a tp link archer axe75.

i have checked with the vodafone router and it is getting a ipv6 address but when i connect via the tp link with the wan connected to the ont so what setting i try to use i git no joy?

any help would be much appreciated

hi mine starts 2a0a ipv6 address and when i check it via a checker its saying it belongs to vodafone and also i get a score of 10/10 in the ipv6 test when i have the vodafone router connected but when i try with  the tp link i get 0/10 ipv6 not reachable. When i use the settings on tp link website it just keeps connecting/disconnecting aparently all new connections will be ipv6 enabled its very strange

@Ian442001 have you tried those settings I pasted earlier for your Tp-link?

hi yes i have tried them all sharing ppoe with ipv4. unticking the shared connection box and mirroring my user and password each time rebooting the tp link

@Ian442001  While we wait for the image to be approved, I read that some ISPs dual stack and route DNS queries over IP4. So you may have to try different combinations of settings, one of the "benefits" of being first I'm afraid 😄

i spent most of last night trying various settings with no luck i have rang vodafone and they are no help, i have also been on with tp link support and they have escalated it to someone higher hopefully someone contacts me on mon/tue maybe will need a firmware update? if i do hear anything i will keep you posted just hope vodafone dont somehow keep it exclusivley for there own routers.

@Ian442001 VF are likely to have only worked with their own routers. It would be too expensive and time consuming to try to get working with all of the kit available. Their position would be that their service and guarantee is only with their provided router. Other ISPs take the same position.

You are indeed correct @Cynric I've now got Vodafone's implementation of IPv6 up and running on my asus. Vodafone do indeed implement a 6to4 tunnel. I just need to sort the dns server as I'm currently using tunnelbroker's.

@Ian442001. From the to-link manual:

Case 2: IPv4 Connection Type is “PPPoE”

1. Select PPPoE. Enable Share the same PPPoE session with IPV4.

If Your ISP Provided 2 Separate Accounts for the IPv4 and IPv6 Connections:

Uncheck the Box for “Share the Same PPPoE Session with IPv4

Manually Enter the Username and Password You Were Given By Your ISP for the IPv6 Connection

2. Go to the Advanced Settings Tab, Select Auto under the option for “Get IPv6 Address”.

3. Select Enable in “Prefix Delegation”.

4. Click Save.

I wonder, if I butter them could I get Ipv6 activated on my account. It would be easy enough to work out the connection method from the THG3000's log file.
