After 15 years with Vodafone , they disconnected me without warning because I did not top up for the last 180 days.
I need my phone everyday to work from home.
So far, vodafone has not helped at ALL. to try to reconnect my number.
It is a complete disgrace.

Vodafone wouldn't have just disconnected your service @jflajolet you would have received three text message notifications from asking you to top up or make some chargeable activity, if you did not take some action before the 180 day deadline, Vodafone would have disconnected your service.
However, all is not lost, send the Social Team a message through social channels here: Contact Us if it's only just been disconnected they may be able to get the number back.
If the number is important to you, you do need to keep the SIM active with some outgoing activity, otherwise the networks have no way of knowing if the service is going to be used, there are not an infinite number of mobile telephone numbers and it is an Ofcom ruling that all PAYG numbers have to be in use with outgoing activity.

I totally understand and appreciate your viewpoint on this @jflajolet
Our mobile numbers are important to use for many reasons.
It's conceivable that warning texts didn't get to you.
A person has 90 days after a suspension of the account to get it back live again.
However do speak with customer services again and or the Vodafone Social Media Teams via Facebook Messenger or Twitter DM > here.
I wish you all the best.

Spent 1 hour on the phone with an adviser this morning who told me the line cannot be reactivated & that the number has been destroyed by order ??
Terrible service , surely if a number is deactivated , it can be reactivated.

Depends on how long the number has been disconnected. If the number was ported over to Vodafone from another network then the number gets returned to the originating network. So, if you had a new number with EE and port that over to Vodafone, once you cancel the Vodafone line the number will be returned back to the EE network and they will re-issue it to one of their customers.
