Hi @MindfulCCA
The phone will be locked to the network, when you have used the Vodafone SIM in the phone for 30 days making some chargeable activity, you will be able to get the phone unlocked. Just follow this link to get your NUC code from Vodafone: Unlock your phone or SIM

Do I not just need to get a PAC code from Orange, now EE. Was reading though that PAC codes are not necassary for PAYG, really just want to keep the Orange number, couldnt care less who provider is?
Thanks

No it's the phone to have bought that is locked to Vodafone UK @MindfulCCA
If you can't use a Vodafone sim card in the phone for 30 days making calls etc then request the unlock code you'll either need to return the phone or see if a Highstreet Store that advertises they unlock phones can help but they'll charge you a fee.
Payg still needs a pac if your moving your number to Vodafone @MindfulCCA
EE give you the Pac which you then give to Vodafone UK.
Once the pac has completed then the number will be on your new Vodafone sim card and the Vodafone sim card will be accepted by the phone.

Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra 512gb Phantom Black.

Hi @MindfulCCA
That explains the situation.
Depending on signal at your location, if network is not important to you, you may want to consider returning the Nokia and staying with the network you are already with.
However, it's easy enough to port the number into Vodafone using a PAC and the number will be transferred within 24 hours, you can then start to enjoy trying the network and using Vodafone. A good tip is to give the PAC to Vodafone at the beginning of the week, numbers don't port over a weekend on any network.
