Hi Vodafone,

The information on the website states that esim is not available to PAYG customers but I have to option in MyVodafone to change my SIM into an eSIM. What happens if I try to switch a PAYG from a SIM to a eSIM trough that MyVodafone procedure?

Thanks,

George

Hey @simax eSIM's aren't available on VOXI at the moment.

But with the merger/partnership etc. talks between VF.UK and 3.UK who knows which brand (Voxi or Smarty) will go .when they merge ....

If the MNO/MVNO do not offer eSIM to their customers you can't move your eSIM there.

It's the same for physical SIM, when you go to the new MNO/MVNO you "always" get a new SIM card (that can have a same number if you asked for PAC code) ....and if eSIM is not supported that you will have to stick with physical SIM card.

Aware of that… however given the fact you can move from Vodafone PAYG to Voxi on a normal Sim by filling in a form, if you happened to be on Voda PAYG on an eSim (either by migration from PAYM or filling a form), then I was thinking maybe you could go from PAYM eSim -> PAYG eSim -> Voxi eSim, just by migrating via a form each time…

Follow the process and let us know.

How did you managed to log in to your pay as you account on PC?

I ordered payg SIM, got it delivered, used the e-mail address that is associated with my BB/landline,

but the payg SIM not showing there and looking on the VF website and can't see how to log in

into my payg account online ....... ??

Want to try the eSIM swap.

Can someone please post the direct link to the menu where the eSIM?

In case anyone is interested in trying. After logging in to my VF account, I just used the link above posted by @welsh on my PAYG account and I now have a working ESIM in my Pixel 4 phone.

I'm still waiting for the e-Mail
My physical SIM still has signal .....

I have tried it again, but got another error message:

Your order wasn't placed, as there's been a problem.

You've exceeded the maximum number of eSIMs you can order on this account. If you still need an eSIM, please chat to an adviser so we can assist you further.

But there is new option as well :Smiling:

Device EID:

Scan QR Code device
and new one
Enter devices EID manually (handy in devices without camera ; )
I should have done that .....

I'm impressed.

I just got this e-mail from VF

Hello,

Thanks for requesting a SIM swap for the mobile number ending XXXX. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to do this for you because you've requested multiple SIM swaps today.

What's the problem?
There have been too many SIM swap requests for your account in the past 24 hours – which means we can't process any further requests online at the moment. This is a measure we've put in place for security reasons.

What happens next?
To complete your SIM swap, please visit your nearest store instead. The team there will be happy to help get you sorted.  If you can't make it to one of our stores, please try your SIM swap online again in 24 hours.

Didn't request a SIM swap?
If you didn't ask for this SIM swap, it's really important you get in touch with us as soon as possible. Please call us on 191 free from your Vodafone mobile or 03333 040 191 from any other UK mobile or landline (standard call charges apply).

Tried the Vodafone store, the sales person did not know what to do
But at least he did not at that moment trying to sell me eSIM pay monthly tariff :Winking_smiley:

He did swap the SIM to eSIM adventually, but could not generate QR code and instead asked for EID (eSIM ID), and told me that PAYG can not get QR Code generated

I have loaded the eSIM automatically to my phone (via menu and add e-sim), that is handy, but when I want to transfer the eSIM from one phone to another I am either going to use the on-line portal that did not work for me,
or go back to the  sore and that is impractical

QR code/ activation code would have been much better option.

Activation code is single sequence of:
1] LPA:1$vf.pr.go-esim.com$
2] the unique 32-digit activation code found on your eSIM pack
3] $$

For example, if your activation code is ABCDEF1234567890ABCDEF1234567890, you'll need to enter:
LPA:1$vf.pr.go-esim.com$ABCDEF1234567890ABCDEF1234567890$$

Did anyone managed to get the QR code on PAYG for eSIM?
Or does it only work via EID?
