Solution

2022 CPI+3.9% price increase from 1st April

Hi, I have a couple of queries on the above

I am aware that prices will increase by the cpi rate published in January 22 (5.4%) plus additional 3.9% based on my current price of £26pcm an increase of 9.3% would come to an extra £2.40pm if my maths are correct

I have gotten the above information from the Vodafone website and have yet received any official confirmation of any price increase and the website doesn’t make clear whether I will or not.

so my two questions are

1. are Vodafone regulatory required to send out personal letters/emails outlining the changes and the exact price per month bills will increase by, if so when will these start to be sent out

2. are changes pro rata so for example my billing period is 15th through to 14th, would I therefore see a change in March bill or would I see it as whole from my April bill onwards

TIA

As today is April 1st I was expecting pricing to update on estimated bills (my April bill is due to be created on April 15th) but so far it hasn’t it’s still showing the current price, has anybody noticed a change yet?

moreover when my March bill was created on 15th March I was advised it was higher because of pro rata charges, but I ended up paying the same as I’ve been paying since I switched from payg in November (£13) , I’ve attached a screenshot of my March bill (I’ve blanked out personal info) can anyone shed any light on what’s going on here

thanks

Hey @BSF74 I hope you're well 🌻

The price rise will be seen on your bills generated from the 1st April onwards. The bill you are currently viewing was generated before the price rise comes into effect so your line rental is still the same as normal. On your next bill you will see the change 🙂

The reason your March bill is £13 is because you have been credited back the charges from the 11th March to the 14th March and then you have been charged your normal line rental, minus the 50% discount on your plan, from the 15th March to the 14th April as you are always charged in advance 😊

I’ve had no email or text message to say my plan is changing by 9.3%…. I signed up in Oct 2020… am I still on RPI terms? And if so, when does that change?

Hi Evie,

I received the email this afternoon regarding the price increase, however I’ve only been given 7 days notice as my bill is produced in 7 days? I thought you had to provide 30 days/1 month notice with regards to price increase notifications?

Hi simax, I haven’t received any official confirmation yet either, and my April bill is due in 11 days time and although I was aware of the increase was still fully expecting some sort of official advance notice of at least a month

also to the mods I don’t appear to be able to tag anybody using @ when posting , why is this?

Hi @simax, did you send us a message on Twitter or Facebook about this? If so, did you include your Community username?
@BSF74, what's happening when you're trying to tag people? We not aware of any errors with this 🙂

Hi @markd , if I type your id like I have done it’s not showing the list from which I can pick the person I what to tag and your tag hasn’t turned red

Hi MarkD,

No I haven’t as I’ve now had the notification… thanks anyway. I was merely asking the question about how much notice you would normally give a customer regarding a price change. I always thought it was 30 days notice but your T&C’s aren’t clear on that.
