Advantage and flexi upgrade

Hi, I'm  trying to arrange an upgrade using my flexi upgrade (still a couple of months left before I can free upgrade)

I have chosen a phone and plan I'm happy with and are eligible. As far as I can tell there are no other discounts on them.

I have my advantage code, but when I try to apply it, it says it is not valid on this plan.

 I have seen in other posts that it has to be applied when the deal is done, so to speak, so firstly why is the box there for me to add it? Secondly, how can I tell if a plan is eligible, I've looked at the t&Cs and I'm  sure it is but I am aware that there may be discounts already there I'm not aware of.

I'm  trying to add to a S20FE on a 24 month unlimited max 4xtra plan . Neither phone nor plan mentions any offer or discount. I don't  want to sign up for a plan, then have to apply the advantage later to discover the plan is not eligible, I'd  like to be able to tell up front.

Hi @Anniemaccie 

 

As far as I can see to be eligible for a flexi upgrade, you have to be on a Essentials, Red Extra or Red Entertainment plan.  This is mentioned here: Flexi Upgrade 

 

To be able to add the Advantage Discount link here : Vodafone Advantage   it has to be against an Extra plan with Evo here: Vodafone Evo

Your totally right it cam be difficult to determine which plan is eligible or not. The support information is rather vague.

Rule of thumb is the plan your looking at hasn't been promoted or discounted already.

As only one discount type can be applied on any one plan you'll need to see if the one you eventually choose isn't discounted already.

Sometimes negotiating a discount deal with the retention team via 191 when your contract is up can end up being better than what the discount the advantage scheme can bring.

There's also the £10 administration charge when re applying to consider.

Hey @Anniemaccie, Thank you very much for reaching out to us. I can confirm that the information provided by both @AnnS and @BandOfBrothers is accurate 👍 I've also had a look at the plan in question and this should be eligible for the VEA discount. If you're eligible, the discount can be applied to the account in 1 of 2 ways:
 
-Through the link @AnnS provided, with a valid work email address
-In your local Vodafone store, with your valid work ID

I’m in sim only plan  ,I wanted to upgrade with device am I eligible?

You can check your upgrade date on your My Vodafone app - just head to Your Plan on the main page and scroll down, your contract end date and upgrade date will be there 🙂
