So I have a Samsung S7 Edge, during the many years I have been with Vodafone I have never used the call waiting feature. I often can't get off the call I am currently on so feel that it's better that customers get an engaged tone rather than think I am not answering.
Ever since I changed my plan to a sim only deal the phone constantly keeps turning call waiting back on. This leads me to believe that it's a vodafone issue rather than a phone issue because it started doing it straight after that, but after several live chats with support they keep insisting that it's the phone.
I see that a couple of other people have reported the same thing but there has not been an answer or a fix mentioned.
So yes I have call waiting turned off in the phone settings, and I also frequently dial #43# but it just keeps re-enabling iteself. I've tried turning it on and then off, and every combination you can think of.
If anyone has any other ideas it would be appreciated.

Hi @Tigggger
I'm not sure if this will help … deviceguides.vodafone.co.uk/samsung/galaxy-s7-edge-android-6-0/calls-and-contacts/turn-call-waiting-...
In my phone I launch the phone app then choose the 3 little dots in the top right hand corner and choose Settings then Supplementary Services and turn Off Call Waiting there.

Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra 512gb.

Thanks, I do have that set to off (and have tried cycling it).
Call waiting still occurs despite that being off and me having dialled #43#

Hey there @Tigggger - Thank you for trying that and sending over the screenshot. How odd 🤔 When you have Call Waiting disabled and then you still receive incoming calls during calls, if go back to those settings has Call Waiting been enabled automatically?
Do you have another device that has a Call Waiting option so that you could try your SIM card in to see if the issue persists?

Hi Evie,
That setting never changes, it's always set to off, it's just that the phone appears to be ignoring it.
When I dial #43# I get the system message that call waiting is disabled, but it ignores that as well.
It started doing this immediately after I had a review and they changed my plan to a sim only one, it might be a coincidence of course, just seems odd the timing.
Will see if I can find another phone to test with my sim and see what happens.

@Tigggger Thank you for confirming that.
Could you try dialing *43# to enable WiFi calling and then #43# to disable it? Let us know how you get on with the other device as well when you get the chance

So an update.
If I dial *43# the slider in my screenshot changes to the on position so that part is working, if I then dial #43# it moves to the off position. But it still continues to ignore the setting and beep in my ear.
Tried the sim on a Samsung J5 and so far it appears to be working ok, if it behaves for the next few days will have to get a new phone as that must be the source of the problem (but an odd one for sure).

Hi @Tigggger 👋 It certainly is a strange one, I would also make sure you are running the most up to date software on your phone, just in case there have been any patches to fix any issues 😊
