Closed account still showing as active on credit file
tried to contact via social media and live chat but no response
Vodafone can you sort this out

They should be able to sort this out for you @Onetwo but not via this forum unfortunately as there is no account access here.
Usually the Vodafone Social Media Team's via Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries are good with getting issues resolved.
Perhaps try again using the Twitter link and link back to your thread here including your forum username so your not having to repeat yourself.
I wish you all the best with this.

Thanks for your reply
But I don’t really want to go through the hassle of registering a Twitter or Facebook account just to ask them a question
it would be easier to escalate through the ombudsman as it surely can’t be legal for them to keep my account open after all this time
im currently applying for a mortgage and sorting out my credit file and I find this behaviour by Vodafone completely unacceptable

Quite agree @Onetwo When an account is closed, it should also include reporting against a credit file even when it is a zero balance.
Follow this link: Complaints Procedure
It will take one calender month to be removed from your file. There is nothing stopping you from adding a Notice of Correction, credit reference agencies will be able to advise the best way to proceed.
