So after seeing a good offer for my old mobile, i tried to purchase a new phone from Vodafone. I put in my details of address via postcode checker which came up with a different address from mine, I been having problems with certain companies for years because they dont update their postcode checkers.
I go to order the phone correcting the address and go through all the rest of the forms to fail the credit check. My actual credit rating is 933. I contact Vodafone via twitter who then pass me onto their company who check credit ratings Transunion who said they could not find my details on the system and told me to go back to the online store or to a shop.
I tried again to order just altering even my name into capitals on the credit card part of the form to see if that worked, no luck. I then contacted the complaints department via chat to talk about this but then after giving them my mobile number they then said i have a voxi number so said i need to transfer my chat to them. I did not have a problem with Voxi, it was Vodafone who was making the ordering a pain and that is why I wanted to discuss it with them.
So i have a working voxi account with my correct details who are a partner of Vodafone yet Vodafone can not cross reference my details with them even though they have direct contact channels between Voxi and Vodafone.
I have finally decided to try and stop ordering the phone but if the two applications for this phone have affected my credit rating i will be disappointed and will be contacting the Fnancial Ombudsman Service to sort out this issue.

Credit searches shouldn't adversely affect your rating however it is advised to let 90 days pass before attempting again to apply for anyrhing @surreygardener
Voxi is owned by Vodafone however they do have separate channels of customer services hence why you were asked to contact them.

I've had similar issues recently. The credit score you see on web sites is meaningless though and is just there to try and sell you services from their site.
Are you buying from Voxi or Vodafone though?
You can appeal the decision if it's Vodafone- https://www.vodafone.co.uk/creditcheckappeal/
They replied to me within about 3 hours and said "Your initial application was accepted, but our system miscalculated the total recurring charge" however instead of processing the original web order, Vodafone want to place a new order and can't tell me if a new hard credit check will be done. I did try, it failed. I was told again that it was accepted so just try it again.
It's been quite frustrating as all Vodafone staff want to do is process an upgrade so they can get the commission themselves it seems.

Thanks for the info.I was actually buying off vodafone but for some reason via twitter and their customer service chat support they kept trying to put me through to voxi as I had an account with them. The good trade in deal for my phone has expired now so wont be bothering now.
I did not want to order over the phone as i would not be able to claim back any money via a cashback website. Anyway their loss as other phone providers are available who probably have better support, weirdly though i have found voxi to be really good but Vodafone is woeful.
