Credit Default - Please help

I have just applied for a mortgage and find I have a default from vodafone on my credit file for £27.  Please advise who I can speak to as it stopping me moving house and causing immense stress.

From other posts I see there is a credit file handling team - what is the best way to speak to them?

The issue arose from my changing providers, settling my last bills by DD but then Vodafone started charging me every month a random £8.15.  I tried calling and speaking but I could never get through or be helped as I had no account anymore connected to my mobile number.  I even went into a shop to resolve it once and for all and all they cold do was give me yet another phone number where I went round in circles. I was pulling my hair out at times it was so frustrating.  Eventually I cancelled my DD in frustration hoping it would prompt a letter from Vodafone but all I got 2 months later was a debt collection letter saying the account was closed for non payment.  The positive was at last the account was closed and I could pay the outstanding balance even though I never understood what these charges were for as no one would tell me or give me access to MYVodafone to see what they were.  I thought that was the end of the matter but now find I have default charge on my credit file which is stopping me moving my life on.  It feels unfair and very unreasonable given I spent a lot of time trying to resolve the issue but no one in vodaphone nor the systems would allow me too.  Please advise who I need to speak to to resolve this situation. Thank you.

The Vodafone Social Media Teams can pass your details onto the Vodafone Credit File Specialist Teams if you contact them via Facebook Messenger or Twitter DM > Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries .

There is no account access via the forum.

They can investigate the default to see if it was warranted.

If it was warranted then the default will remain on your file for the mandatory 6 years.

A paid default amount will show as settled, which looks better on a person's credit file.

Some mortgage lenders will allow an application if there's only one default however you may have to shop around.

I wish you all the best. Take care.  😎
