Default on credit file

My contract came to an end and I asked for a PAC code back in November 2020, didn’t think anymore about it until I had a threatening letter from a debt recovery company in June 21. I paid the outstanding balance owed of £23!! Again thinking nothing more about it. Last night I checked my credit score and it’s gone down from 999 to 623, when I checked it’s because Vodafone have put defaults on my credit file for Jan through to May 21 even though I had no paper letters asking for a final payment.

Please could someone tell me how I get these defaults removed from my credit file ASAP. I have sent a message through Facebook but it hasn’t even been read

Hi @FlopsDad

The Social Media Team's will get to your Facebook message.

If you use Twitter you can DM them too.

The links are Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries.

They'll collate your information and involve their Credit File Specialist Team's to see if the default was warranted or not.

Unfortunately there is no account access via this forum.

You could also raise a dispute via Complaints/code-of-practice however the Social Media Team's also deal with issues raised this way too.

I appreciate how damaging a default can be from my own personal experience so I wish you all the best with this.
