I've been told by Vodafone that they cannot price match a SIM only deal I have seen with Carphone Warehouse (Currys), fair enough. Carphone Warehouse have said that to transfer my mobile over to the new SIM Vodafone may not give me the PAC code. Is this correct? How else can I move my mobile over to the new SIM?

Hi @Concorde671
This is what you do.
The process should take no longer than 48 hours to complete and you get the number you want to keep on the Carphone deal.
Vodafone would probably tell you to move the number to PAYG but this will take 30 days to complete.
You continue to use the same online account with the cheaper deal and new tariff.

Hi @Concorde671, have you spoken directly with our upgrades team on Live Chat or over the phone about the price that you've seen at Carphone Warehouse?
If we're understanding the correctly, the deal that you've seen with Carphone Warehouse, is this for new connections only? If so and you're on a Pay Monthly contract, you will need to put your 30 days notice in on your current contract and move the number to Pay as you Go, this can be done with the cancellations team. The new connection that you do with Carphone Warehouse will have a new temporary number with a new SIM Card. You can then move the Pay as you Go number (the original number that you wish to keep) to the new SIM Card by completing the Keep my Number form here. It's worth noting that we can't move the number from one Pay Monthly contract to another Pay Monthly contract.
You would only need a PAC from us if you wanted to move to a different network, this can be requested at anytime in your contract. If you do request and use your PAC before the commitment end date, you would get an early exit fee added to your final bill.
Hope this makes sense and helps, let us know if you have any follow up questions 🙂

Mark, Would you need to top-up / buy a bundle for the payg sim to be able to use it for the double switch?
Some moves I have done between networks require a sim to be active. For example to receive a 2fa code by text.
And last time I used Vodafone payg, the sim did nothing until you 'crossed its palm with silver'.

You'd only need to add credit or a Big Value bundle if you wanted to use the Pay as you go SIM in the time it takes to move your SIM over @woodface7 - the SIM would still be active as we do this on your existing SIM.
If you took out the new number with Carphone Warehouse and then request to move your current Pay monthly to Pay as you go, (this would take 30 days as Mark has mentioned) then the day after it moves to Pay as you go you can request to move it to replace the new number, this usually completes the next working day.
