Incorrectly applied default notice

I'm really frustrated and incredibly annoyed with Vodafone as they registered a default notice against me a few years ago without any cause to. The account was paid and settled in full upon closure.

I contacted Vodafone and they made it seem like it was being sorted and they told me the default would be removed. They then said they would get back in touch within 3-5 days to confirm. 

I have heard nothing back and the notice is still applied!

This is criminal, how can a company be allowed to incorrectly apply these?

How can I get this resolved properly??

It's possible that this has been done, but that the credit files haven't fully updated yet.  However, if you were promised confirmation, you should have received it.   There's no account access via the forum, but if you drop a note to the Social Media team on Facebook or Twitter, they can ask Credit File Support to investigate.
